Justin is an experienced project manager and mechanical engineer with over 16 years’ experience in industries associated with large scale, multidisciplinary capital engineering projects in the chemical & minerals processing industries. His experience includes project managing, engineering, and design of the full project life-cycle, from conceptual study through to commissioning and operations. Additionally, with his broad range of experience, Justin is often requested by financiers to evaluate projects as part of their due diligence team.
Justin has been involved with international projects since 2004, mostly in remote and inaccessible places requiring significant logistical planning due to physical and weather related constraints. He has worked on projects throughout North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa, across a wide variety of commodities.
Prior to founding Halyard, Justin held the position of Senior Project Manager and Head of the Design Office at DRA Americas. Justin was instrumental in the successful growth of the company. Justin’s strong project management and technical skills, combined with his entrepreneurial drive to ensure client satisfaction is how he leads his team to deliver projects on time and on budget.
Tara Gilfillan, B Com, CPA, CA
Principal, CFO and VP of Corporate Development
Tara has over twenty years of business experience and has worked for most of her career as a “C-Suite” executive for mid-sized companies largely in the mining industry. She has a wide range of experience successfully managing the operations and financials of several companies. She is skilled at leading accounting, finance, tax, human resources, marketing, business development, and strategy and legal /commercial including international experience in Brazil and Peru.
Tara has a solid background in accounting and finance, in the roles of Controller and CFO of publically and privately held companies. Tara has managed successful financial turn-arounds, acquisitions, including valuations and due diligences, as well as raising capital. She is knowledgeable in both ASPE, and IFRS reporting and has been involved in both local and international tax planning. She has held board positions for several non-profit organizations and an international engineering company.
Prior to joining Halyard, Tara held the roles of CFO, VP of Corporate Development and Interim CEO of DRA Americas. At DRA Americas, she was instrumental in driving profitable growth and was responsible for accounting, finance, human resources, marketing and legal/commercial.
